Hi everyone, I'm a new member of this site. I've been drawn to Astrology and looking into it now for the past couple of years. The more I learn the more I see there's so much more to learn. One thing that's puzzeling me and I'd like to recieve feedback on is "How does Daylight Savings Time effect the Houses in my Chart?" After studying my chart for the past couple of years, I've gotten a surprise. It seemes it was cast using Eastern Standard Time and the State I was born in was under Daylight Savings Time when I was born. Therefore the planets are still in their signs of course but the Houses are changed! Since different States adopted DST at different times, how can I be sure it was in effect when I was born? You are correct in your assumption that an incorrect time of birth will effect your planetary placements. Some quick research puts Danville squarely in the EST/EDT half of Kentucky. Since Daylight Savings Time extends until November, you're covered with a 9/30 birthday.

This would mean that within this website, you'll need to choose EDT (GMT -4) as your birth timezone.

Thanks for looking it up for me Michael. I'm so glad I discovered the mistake and it was through your website. Using EST my chart had four planets, including the Sun, South Node and Part of Fortune in the Eighth House. I've been trying to figure out what all that meant in my life with such a heavy emphasis on that House. Now that I've found the correct placement of the planets in the Houses, only one planet, Mercury is in the Eighth House. Saturn is conjunct with Mercury, however Saturn is now in the Ninth House along with Venus and the Sun. Now I need to start figuring out the direction the stars have for me again. It's a big concern right now since I've gone into my second Saturn return. Thanks again for your answer and any further feedback will be appreciated .. Marigold
